Product Description

This high-potency,non-allergenic blend of 12 certified probiotics is a unique combination of colonizing and transient strains providing broad coverage to support a healthy balance of microflora across the entire gastrointestinal tract.
Scientifically formulated with a full spectrum of synergistic and complementary species, Full Spectrum Probiotics is designed for individuals who require significantly higher amounts of several different types of probiotic species to help support intestinal health. Formulated with 100+ billion CFUs per dose, Full Spectrum Probiotics uses proprietary technology to ensure maximum delivery of live microorganisms throughout the intestinal tract.

The function of the probiotic strains in Full Spectrum Probiotic capsules is as follows:

  • Produce analogs of the DPP-IV enzyme that break down opioid peptides
  • Synthesize vitamin K and B vitamins
  • Support activity of detoxifying enzymes and removal of ammonia and phenol
  • Produce short-chain fatty acids (acetate, propionate, and butyrate) that nourish the colon
  • Improve immunological gut barrier function
  • Produce lactic acid, hydrogen peroxide, and other compounds naturally antagonistic to pathogenic bacteria, yeast and viruses
  • Interfere with binding of pathogens to the intestinal mucosa
  • Compete with pathogenic organisms for nutrients
  • Support innate and acquired immune defense mechanisms
  • Reduce production of proinflammatory cytokines
  • Produce lactase enzyme that helps digest the milk sugar lactose

Suggested Use

As a dietary supplement take 1/4 teaspoon daily mixed in a cool or room temperature drink or as directed by a physician. 60 servings per container. This contains 4 times as many probiotics as many capsules. You can reduce the dosage to 1/2 or 1/4 of the recommended dosage and still have a therapeutic dose.

Other ingredients: Inulin base derived from chicory root, polysaccharide complex, vegetarian capsule (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, water) and L-leucine.

Detailed Probiotic Description

Lactobacillus rhamnosus - Produces more peptidases than any other Lactobacillus species. Enhances innate and acquired immunity. Inhibits proinflammatory cytokine production. Adheres well to colon epithelial cells. Supports gut microflora during antibiotic therapy.

Bifobacterium bifidum - Present in large numbers in a health colon. Populations reduced in allergic infants and decline significantly with age. Suppresses total and antigen-specific IGE production. Enhances IgM and IgG responses to seled antigens. Adivates B cell IgA secrtion. Enhances IgA reponse to Clostridium difficile toxin and reduces positive testing for C. difficile toxins. Supports gut microflora during antibiotic therapy.

Lactobacillus acidophillus - Highly resistant to gastric acide, bil pepsin, and pancreatin. Processes more than 20 known peptidases and breaks down casein and gluten. Ferments lactose and metabolizes other sugars and polysaccharides. Antagonizes a wide range of pathogenic bacteria. Reduces intestinal concentrations of carcinogenic enzymes.

Lactobacillus casei - Makes proline-specific peptidases enhancing casein, casein-derived polypeptide, and gluten breakdown. Modulates immune responses. Increases number of intestinal IgA-producing cells.
Suppresses and/or antagonizes the following pathogens: Helicobacter pylori, Escheri coli. Decreases Shigella-mediate inflammation.

Lactobacillus plantarum - A beneficial bacteria missing from people consuming a standard Western diet. Resistant to gastric acid and bile salts. Facilitiates induction of the central regulatory cytokine, interleukin-12. Decreases production of inflammatory mediators. Supports intestinal barrier function. Antagonizes Clostridium difficile. Supports normal microflora in people with irritable bowel syndrome.

Lactobacillus salivarius - Indigenous to the intestinal tract and other mucosal surfaces. Secretes several anti-microbial agents. Enhances intestinal calcium uptake. Reduces inflammatory cytokine secretion. Supports intestinal barrier function. Stimulates interleukin-10 secretion, cytokine that inhibits nflammatory response ito bacterial DNA.

Bifidobacterium longum - Often the dominant Bifidobacterium in people. Inhibits Escheri coli. Augments intestinal IgA response to dietary proteins. Modulates inflammatory response to respiratory antigens. Reduces inflammation in ulcerative colitiis.

Streptococcus thermophilus - Long history of use as a starter culture for yogurt and cheese. It produces many fermentation and end-products that inhibit pathogenic bacterial proliferation. Reduces DNA damage. Supports normal microflora and gastrointestinal function in conditions ranging from rotavirus diarrhea in infants to remission in ulcerative colitis.

Lactobacillus bulgaricus - Used in production of yogurt and cheese. Supports normal cholestrol levels land reduces LDL cholestorol oxidation. Supresses inflammatory cytokine production.

Lactobacillus paracasei - Antagonizes Clostridium difficile and Stphylococcus aureus as well as other rpathogens. Has supportive benefit in conditions ranging from allergic rhinitis to nonroatavirus diarrhea in children.

Bifidobacterium lactis - Produces large amounts of anti-bacterial formate. Incrases numbers of total helper and activated T cells. Increases serum and mucsal IgA respones to cholera toxin and tetanus toxoid.

Bifidobacgterium breve - secretes compounds such as lactosidase that improve intestinal microflora by reducing Bacteroides and Clostridium difficile concentrations and degrading mucin. Eliminates Campylobacter jejuni in campylobacter enteritis, restoring normal intestinal microflora. Antagonizes rotavirus and decreases rotavirus shedding in infants with rotavirus diarrhea.
