Product Description

Vitamin B12 is a label for a group of compounds known as cobalamins. The most common form of vitamin B12 is called cyanocobalamin.
Cobalamin functions as a source of a methyl group (a carbon molecule) for a very important biochemical cycle known as the methylation cycle. In order to do this, cobalamins must be converted to the methyl donating form called methylcobalamin. Methylcobalamin is the active form of cobalamins. Your liver has to transform regular vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) into methylcobalamin. The most common and least expensive form of vitamin B12 is called "cyanocobalamin" and istype of B-12 used in most supplements. Methylation is the one of the primary processes through which the body detoxifies.
Children with autism have been shown to be deficient in cysteine and glutathione and it appears that methylcobalamin can help restore the formation of the nutrients. (1) Methyl B-12 can be very effective in improving mental function. In a 1995 double-blind study of elderly people with low levels of B12, over 60% improved significantly with vitamin B-12 supplementation. It was suggested that those who did not improve had long-term (longer than 6 months) signs of mental impairment. (2)
B-12 can be difficult to absorb when taken as a supplement. Some treatment protocols call for B-12 injections. Methyl-B-12 Spray provides an easier way to administer Methyl B-12, by spraying it sublingually under the tongue or on the inside of the cheek for direct absorption of B-12 into the blood stream that bypasses the digestive tract. Vitamin B12 refers to a group of compounds known as cobalamins.
According to the Pfeiffer Clinic in Chicago, approximately 85% of individuals in the autism spectrum are under-methylators - they utilize methyl B-12 much better than non-methylated forms of cobalamin. Typically, but not always, individuals who are under-methylated are more low-energy and lethargic, while individuals who are over-methylators are typically more hyperactive. (The approximately 15% of individuals who are over-methylators generally better utilize the non-methylated B vitamins.)
Vitamin B12 in its active form, methylcobalamin, generally provides a better result for over-methylators than other forms which have to be converted into methylcobalamin.
One spray contains:
500 mcg Vitamin B12 (Methylcobalamin)

Stevia - A natural sweetener with an insignificant effect on blood glucose levels.

Purified Water

Lecithin - The liposomes in ReadiSorb MethylB-12 Spray are derived from lecithin. The lecithin is derived from oil, not protein, extracted from soy.

Glycerin - Glycerin is used as a sweetener and preservative. It supports the stability of the liposomes and allows for the extended shelf life. Glycerin is a normal product of fat metabolism and is readily converted to glucose for metabolism.

Natural Cherry Flavor - No MSG

Citric Acid - Citric acid is used as a flavoring and preservative.

Potassium Sorbate - A natural material used as a preservative to prevent yeast and mold growth. It is a form of sorbic acid, a naturally occurring fatty acid which is easily metabolized in the body. It is one of the better tolerated preservatives.
Gluten, casein and MSG free.
Directions for use: Shake, spray under tongue or on inside of cheek. Hold for 20 seconds and swallow. There are approximately 90 sprays per bottle.

Servings: Approximately 90 sprays per bottle.
