Product Description

Our mild tasting MCT Oil is derived from coconut and palm kernel oil. Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) are fats that are more rapidly and easily digested than other types of fats, as they require lower amounts of enzymes and bile acids for intestinal absorption. MCTs are metabolized quickly in in the liver and are reported to encourage energy expenditure instead of fat storage.

MCT oil contains naturally occuring fatty acids Capryllic Acid and Capric Acid, which are anti-fungal. Overgrowth of Candida is a problem with the majority of individuals on the autism spectrum - as the byproducts of Candida overgrowth can have neurotoxic effects on the brain - including production of excessive levels of ammonia. Keeping populations of Candida and intestinal pathogens in check helps minimize exposure of the brain to neurotoxins that are byproducts of these pathogens.

MCTs are the only other source of energy for healthy cells, including neurons, other than glucose. Carbohydrates and sugars we consume are converted to glucose. Excessive consumption of carbs and sugar this leads to insulin resistance over time, which means that the cells don't absorb enough of the glucose they need for energy, and will eventually starve and die. Insulin resistance of neurons in the brain is now believed to a a cause of Alzheimer's and related diseases of neurons dying off in the brain, such as Parkinson's.However, even if insulin resistance is present in neurons, they will still able to absorb MCT fat to obtain the energy they require to function healthfully. There is a correlation between diabetes and increased risk of Alzheimer's and autism.

Another notable concern with consuming excessive levels of carbs and sugar is that it increases the risk of developing cancer. There are 9 receptors on a cancer cell for glucose - which makes glucose and foods that can be converted the primary source of nourishment for cancer. Unlike primitive cancer cells, healthy non-cancerous cells, including neurons can also obtain energy from medium chain triglyceride fats. Going on a low carb, low sugar diet, and supplementing with a fat such as MCT Oil or a coconut oil (which also contains MCT oils) can feed the healthy cells and starve the cancer cells.

Suggested Usage

As a dietary supplement, take 1 tablespoon (15 ml) 1 to 3 times daily. MCT Oil can be used a a substitute for conventional oils in salad dressings, sauces or cooking as a source of beneficial fatty acides. Not recommended for use in frying due to low smoke point. It could be mixed into nutritional drinks and smoothies.
