Product Description

Acetyl l-carnitine is an amino acid that is a building block of proteins in your body. Heart and skeletal muscle contain abundant amounts of L-carnitine, which is essential for meeting tissue energy demands by transporting fatty acids to the mitochondria. L-Carnitine supplementation can support liver, blood sugar and cholesterol metabolism, and cardiac function.  Carnitine is made from the essential amino acids lysine and methionnine - so it is considered also to be an essential amino acid.

Some studies with autistic children, indicate significant improvements when used. (1) There are genetic mutations in some individuals diagnosed with autism that impair the ability of the body to make L-Carnitine in the TMLHE gene (which makes the enzyme trimethyllysine dioxygenase).  There are also studies that indicate that L-Carnitine may reduce the risk of having a child with autism when taken by women in pregnancy, including pregnant women who are vegans and get very little carnitine in their diet.  (2)

These vegetarian capsules are ideal for those with allergies‚ because they’re completely organic product and free from common additives. By taking a supplement that is free from additives‚ you’re allowing your body to get acetyl l-carnitine in its most natural form‚ without any harsh fillers that can cause allergic reactions or adverse affects. It also means that you can absorb most of the essential amino acid‚ rather than have it excreted from your body.
