Cod Liver oil has been
reinvented with this new molecularly distilled, peach flavored Arctic
Cod Liver oil from Norway. If you child would benefit from Cod
Liver oil but is unable to swallow a capsule, you
may wish to give this product a try. Now there are four great
flavors to choose from: peach, orange, lemon and strawberry.
Our Cod Liver oil
has the highest level of Omega-3 fatty acids per mg of any cod liver
oil, critical to the development of the brain and
anti-inflammatory, helping to reduce auto-immune responses.
Also, the natural form of Vitamin A in the oil is
critical for a subset children within the autism spectrum, who cannot
metabolize artificial forms of Vitamin A. For more information on the
use of Cod Liver oil in a treatment protocol for autism developed by
Dr. Mary Megson for children who only metabolize natural forms of
Vitamin A, please click here.
Our fish-taste sensitive
family has tried the Peach Flavored Cod Liver oil - our review is that it has
a peach scent, virtually no taste while being swallowed and only a slightly fishy
after-taste. In a preliminary experiment, we have found that by mixing 1
tablespoon of the oil with 3-4 oz. of all-natural peach juice,
even the after-taste completely disappears. Conceivably, this
oil could also be hidden in peach smoothies or frozen ice-cream type
treats that included peaches or peach juice. The other flavors
are equally excellent and strawberry is likely to go over well with
young children.
Purity and Quality
In third party testing this oil
has been shown to have no traces of heavy metals (including lead and
mercury), PCBs or DDT/dioxin, exceeding FDA purity levels by
400 times. It has been tested down to 2.5 particles per billion (a
first in the U.S.).
The raw Cod Liver oil is
molecularly distilled to segregate out the two most important Omega-3
fatty acids DHA and EPA, and to eliminate the potential of heavy
metals, PCBs, and dioxins. The molecular distillation process
represents a gentle and efficient oil enhancement, and generally takes
about 5 days to process. The entire manufacturing process is carried
out under nitrogen or vacuum. This is done to maximize the
products’ freshness value, which facilitates the production of
favorable prostaglandins. Prostaglandins control an array of vital
bodily functions.
Through the use of molecular distillation this oil is able to deliver
Omega-3 products with concentration levels above 80%. A final nitrogen
flush removes oxygen, preserving the oil from oxidation and
maintaining the ultra low peroxide value. Using
a nitrogen manufacturing environment, there is no opportunity for
oxidation to occur, thus preventing rancidity (free radicals).
This Cod Liver oil has been tested and documented to have the highest
freshness value available. High rancidity levels in Cod Liver oil not
only results in the highly fishy taste many people find unpalatable,
but renders it more toxic to the human body.

Benefits of EPA and DHA Oils

Metabolic Pathways of Essential Fatty
Acids
Omega-3 is an Essential Fatty Acid (EFA). EFAs
are considered "essential" because they are needed
throughout the human life cycle, cannot be produced in the human body,
and therefore must be provided through the diet. EFAs aid in the
maintenance of cell membrane fluidity and stability, development and
function of brain and nerve tissue, oxygen transfer and energy
production, immune functions, and conversion into compounds involved
in all body functions including local hormones governing inflammatory
responses. EFAs are the building blocks for
prostaglandins, a class of hormones that regulate numerous bodily
functions, including governing cellular responses, immune function,
and hormone synthesis.
Omega-3 fatty acids from fish
include EPA and DHA, which have a much shorter metabolic
pathway and directly break down into the critical components needed
for anti-inflammatory response.
Series 3 Prostaglandins are
anti-inflammatory and have the following effect:
 | Reduce inflammation
|
 | Dilate blood vessels
|
 | Reduce blood clotting
|
 | Lower harmful LDL cholesterol level
|
 | Raise beneficial HDL cholesterol level |
